The statue of Christopher Columbus in Tower Grove Park, St. Louis, Missouri was removed on 16 June 2020 by the action of the Park’s Board of Commissioners.1
The statue was originally dedicated in 1886 to “to celebrate the contributions of immigrants in this region."2 The statue of the colonizer3 has been the subject of protest in 20164, 2017,5 and 2018 6.
